When I was about 5 a friend of mine had a great dane – it was nearly as tall as me, hugely friendly, but with a really good helping of inbred stupid & clumsy. The number of times it bowled one of the kids over accidentally, it’s a surprise we all survived.
The pretend ball throw was a daily amusement for us.

My brother bragged his dog is a “hunting dog” that will always find the ball and it could even track him down if he ever went missing. Every time I fake throw the ball and hold it or throw it another way it was completely clueless and would run around randomly forever.
