Strongly recommend the app “AllTrails”
Havent been there yet but the app has never failed me anywhere I have been in the world.
Weekend only? Then i’d head straight to salzburg via train (2-2,5h ride) and spend time there after you’re done sightseeing in vienna. But one weekend is way too short for nice hikes

Could take a train to Gmunden and hike up Traunstein. I believe theres even a small lake up there so you can take a nice dip during your hike and once your down from the mountain another dip in Traunsee
EDIT: aight, no small like up there. Not sure why its bad i recommended Traunstein tho
[There’s a search engine specifically for hikes that can easily be reached by train](https://www.zuugle.at/)
Can highly recommend the Salzkammergut Area.
Austria is already a beautiful country but that is the cherry on top imho.

Best area is Burgenland. Good public transportation from Vienna airport. And you can even hike through a lake to Hungry where are even more beautiful mountains
