  2. This is great and all, but it’s already a non-starter five points in. Russia is never going to agree to Article 5-style security guarantees and sure as hell won’t accept Ukraine being brought in to the EU. 

    The rest of the points are of debatable feasibility, namely the territory lines which Zelenskyy addressed as difficult to negotiate, and the reduction enforces which Ukraine wants to keep at its current level while Russia wants reduced. 

  4. Russia wont agree to anything that leaves Ukraine in a position to resist a 3rd invasion. Russia has made their position abundantly clear that they intend to, if not fully conquer and occupy Ukraine, turn it into a puppet state.

  5. Remember, the biggest threat to Russia is a successful, productive Ukraine.

    Not the Ukrainian military.

    Putins Russia can not allow Ukraine to become like Poland. It will no longer be able to convince its people, and hold on to power.

  6. I always enjoy a good joke in the morning. That “plan” just reads like Ukraine’s wishlist of what they want if they won the war and forced Russia to capitulate, he’s not a serious person.

  7. This 20-point peace proposal reminds me that back in the days, 12 yo me had a much more reasonable christmas wish list.

    This is genuinely delusional and borderline insulting asking to have an EU membership. I don’t have any problem with the EU funding Ukraine for defending itself but once the war is over I’m not going to support an Ukrainian membership whatsoever. The EU is already dysfunctional, we don’t need a war-torn country without fixing our union first.

    Worst part is that this is a proposal towards the US Administration, not towards the EU. Hence why I find it so insulting, Ukraine entertains bullshit peace deals to Trump just to appease him while throwing the EU under the bus. Those kind of proposals without the EU just reinforces Trump’s idea that the EU should not exist.
