Belarusian opposition leader Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya thanked Ukrainians and called for solidarity in her Christmas greetings.

In an X update, Tsikhanouskaya praised Ukraine’s defense and attached her three-minute-long video address.

“This Christmas, let solidarity be our gift. For Belarusians imprisoned for their courage. For families waiting for their loved ones. For Ukraine, defending freedom against darkness,” she wrote.

“Thank you for standing with us – and for not forgetting Belarus.”

This Christmas, let solidarity be our gift.

For Belarusians imprisoned for their courage.
For families waiting for their loved ones.
For Ukraine, defending freedom against darkness.

Thank you for standing with us — and for not forgetting Belarus.

Merry Christmas. 🤍❤️🤍 pic.twitter.com/qaiimuRT3n

In the video, she also touched on the recent release of Belarusian political prisoners, over a hundred of whom were released from Belarus to Ukraine with Kyiv’s facilitation.

“Even under constant attack by the Russian aggressor, they found space in their hearts to care for our released prisoners,” she said.

She also tied Kyiv’s fight against Moscow as a mutual struggle against tyranny for the Belarusian opposition.

“The Ukrainian people are not just defending their land. They’re defending the values that unite all of us: freedom, dignity, justice. Their struggle is our struggle. The fate of Ukraine and Belarus is intertwined,” she added.

“There will not be [a] free Belarus without [a] victorious Ukraine.”
