I had applied for the permanent residency last year around November and about 2 months ago went to the Munich Foreign Office to finish the application. They told me that within the next month or so I’ll be receiving the final documents which includes the physical card in the mail.
About a month ago I received two identical letters with the PIN and PUK numbers inside which I didn’t really pay much attention to since I don’t and never have used the online functions or whatever of my Blue Card. But the thing is, the physical card itself was not in there and I assumed I’ll be receiving it sometime later.
It’s been a month now and still nothing. Today I happen to properly read those letters and it says that
>”Wir freuen uns, Ihnen mitteilen zu können, dass Ihr neuer elektronischer Aufenthaltstitel hergestellt und heute an uns versandt wurde. Sofern die Online-Ausweisfunktion dieses Aufenthaltstitels aktiviert wurde, möchten wir Ihnen vorab wichtige Informationen geben”.
I’m not sure if I fully understand what they mean by that. Are they saying that they’ve already sent the physical card? Or that they’ll send it later after some activation or something?
Is there anybody here who got their residency permit and did they send the card together with those letters containing the PIN and PUK? Or did you receive that card later separately?
I’m getting worried that it might have been lost by the postal service if the Foreign Office already sent it together with those letters. I’m moving to a new apartment by the end of this month as well and will need to register my new address at the Meldebehörde but I don’t know if it can happen without that card where they put the sticker on with the new address.
EDIT: Another thought that came to my mind is, could they be waiting for me to do the activation online, after which they’ll mail me the card? The letter contains some kind of login information inside called “Sperrkennwort” in addition to PIN and PUK. I can’t find where on [personalausweisportal.de](https://personalausweisportal.de) to put those login info. I don’t get what the deal is here. I have extended my residency permit thrice so far in Germany and never needed to do any of this stuff. 🙁
