Paul Magnette’s rant before this Wednesday’s Consultative Committee: “Compulsory vaccination is THE only coherent solution”

  1. In an exclusive interview, Paul Magnette asks Codeco, which meets this Wednesday, to open the debate on “compulsory vaccination for ALL, from the age of 18”.
“I rarely speak before the Consultation Committee, but it is starting to do well. I do not underestimate the gravity of the situation with the resumption of contaminations and hospitalizations. As well as the heavy consequences in terms of saturation in hospitals, as is currently the case in Liège… ”
“But we must stop this cacophony without name of the different measures according to the regions. This policy of ‘plic-ploc’ that the population no longer understands,” says a president of the PS who was the first to launch the idea of a debate on compulsory vaccination.

  2. I’m not going to lie, I’d enjoy watching all the wappies freak out if mandatory vaccination for everyone were to be implemented.

The cries of dictatorships and the next Holocaust would never be so loud

  3. I’m against compulsory vaccination in principle, but practically I have to admit I prefer it to the Covid Safe Ticket or other measures. With the Covid Safe Ticket, I feel compelled to avoid restos because I find it quite disturbing/surreal to ‘show papers’ just to do daily things like enter a cafe (I don’t mind using the Covid Safe ticket for non-daily things like travel or big events/sports matches though) . If vaccines were mandatory however, it’s not like I could do anything about it because I’m already vaccinated and I’m probably going to get the third shot anyway just to protect myself.

  4. If 85% doesn’t do the trick, how would 100%?

I’m not against vaccination, I got both my shots. But this isn’t going to change much.. These vaccins aren’t as effective and longlasting as we predicted one year ago. So when we are trough the whole cycle of vaccinating all ages, the ones who are vaccinated first will have already lost a lot of immunity compared to the ones who are vaccinated last.

I still think the best way to go is to use our vaccination stock for the most vulnerable of our population and give them a shot more frequently. And just let the rest of society run as they please.
