One of the highlights of the Christmas season here in France is the food. The main feast usually happens on Christmas Eve and the traditional dessert is the incredible Yule log or bûche de Noël. More than eight million Yule logs are sold in France every year, with three quarters of them purchased in late December. Eugenie Pont from Fou de Pâtisserie tells us where this delicious dessert comes from.

  1. So what is it? A cake. A ice cream. A powdered biscuit? What's it made of? Is there a recipe? We in the US have no idea what it is. So since this is a US version of French news and is in English/or at least American enough to understand. Why don't you provide enough detail so we can make some here. It's not practical to ship from France to the US. It's far easier to give us a recipe to try to duplicate this wondrous confection.

  2. I don't recall seeing this when I lived in Quebec for a few years. Either I was ignorant or it's not a French tradition that crossed the Atlantic.
