National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir arrived this morning at a large-scale enforcement operation in Umm Batin against illegal seizure of state lands. He reported that during the activity, demolition orders were issued and fines totaling hundreds of thousands of shekels were imposed for construction violations and seizure of public lands. According to Ben Gvir, since taking office, Israel has reclaimed “lands with a cumulative area equivalent to Tel Aviv and Givatayim combined.” He stated that “it cannot be that in Tel Aviv or Jerusalem, someone who builds a pergola without a permit has their structure immediately demolished, while in the Negev, people seize entire dunams without interference.”
