“Russia is ready to engage in drafting a mutual non-aggression pact with NATO and the European Union,” said Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, foreign media reported.

She also expressed that Russia is ready to formalize these commitments in writing.

“The readiness to legally formalize the absence of aggressive plans towards NATO and the EU on a reciprocal basis is a logical continuation of Russia’s principled approach,” Zakharova said.

The statement comes after President Vladimir Putin said he was briefed in recent hours on the progress made in the negotiations in Miami by the Kremlin’s chief negotiator, Kirill Dmitriev.

Today, both Putin and Zelensky wished a Merry Christmas to Trump, whom the Ukrainian president said he would like to meet to discuss Donbas.
