  1. Yup, don’t remember the bunny being so scary.

    It teached alphabet to children

  2. sure, it looked WAYYY better as a child. not like characters on fentanyl trying to make some cash

  3. Yeah, its legendary.

Of course, objectively in 2025 context its utter garbage, but this was 70ies context where it was absolutely great. Soviet TV was pretty garbage overall, lots of central propaganda and not much else, so an actual domestic kids show was fantastic for the time.

  4. It even had a follow up in the 90s where the characters were grown up and had their own kids learning the alphabet from the same titular book.

  5. Ofcourse not. What do think, that we had TVs when this was created and aired? This was passed on from generation to generation on stone tablets. /s

  6. The bunny doesn’t look right. I do not remember her being so scary- faced.

  7. I still want to hug those furry guys! Absolute beast of a show it was. (L)

  8. Why is that even a question? Would you also ask Americans do they know if Mickey Mouse cartoon existed there?

  9. Yes. I was born in 2004 and was brought up with this show. Even close relatives still get their younger children to watch this

  10. A good show and tbh they need to remake it by new standards. it’s kinda too old now and kids would want to see smth better made

  11. when I was a child I enjoyed it but now the characters look kinda terrifying.

  12. Bro it was the only show existing back that time. Of course we know it and watched it

  13. Of course. The kid watches it and enjoys it. I enjoy seeing all the shoddy production. But hey – if it works.

  14. look up “Vandersellid” three bums living in a car 😅😅😅 also kids show

  15. Yes and it’s very beloved! I’m Gen Z and watched it a lot as a child.

  16. Oh boy that’s a part of my childhood! Back then I didn’t find them creepy at all, but now… it’s different…

I even joke that kids in Estonia grow up on horror movies disguised as children movies. We have “Mõmmi ja Aabits” (the one shown), “Nukitsamees” (live-action where kids get kidnapped by monsters and forced to work for them)… Then I’m hearing things like “Suur Töll”, “Otto Triin” and more…

Back when my mother was a child (back in USSR era), TV’s children program had something called “Klaasikillu mäng”, translating roughly to “The game of glass shards”. It’s an animation of glass shattering multiple times and creepy sounds. Oh boy it traumatized a lot of kids. Even one comedy play jokes that this is the reason why the main character needs alcohol.
