  1. That is about 20 m/s, nothing to worry about. 35 m/s is serious, that is about 70 knots

  2. To my knowledge, the highest wind speed ever registered in gusts was 51 m/s (99 knots) in 2005 near Grobiņa. Overall, the 1967 storm was far more destructive though.

    Apart from this observation, I’ll refrain from forecasts, because a few month ago I wrote here that «we usually don’t get storms in October», and the following week a tree fell near my house (it was a fairly local storm, however).
