The number of executions since the beginning of the Iranian year 1404 now totals 1,900, more than double the previous year.
Following 363 recorded executions in the Iranian month of Azar (November 22-December 21), regime authorities sent 52 prisoners to the gallows in the first three days of Dey (December 22-24).
On Wednesday, December 24, the regime’s executioners hanged 24 prisoners, including one woman: Eskandar Bakhshoudeh, 32, in Isfahan; Ebrahim Alizadeh, 33, Yaqub Mansouri, Mohammad Mehdi Adavi, and Masoud Moradi in Qezel Hesar; Ayub Dehghani and another prisoner, Nazir, in Shiraz; Khodakaram Safapour in Sabzevar; Noushad Kazemian in Malayer; Amir Aziz and Zahra Khanzadeh in Mashhad; a prisoner with the surname Rastegari in Mahabad; Mehdi Rajabalizadeh, 23, Sohrab Majidi, 30, and Mostafa Keyfari in Rasht; Nemat Khosravi and Yadollah Almasi in Kashmar; Noureddin Panahi in Bushehr; Jahanshah Rashidian in Damghan; two prisoners in Chabahar; Mohammad Nourian in Shahr-e Kord; Yarmohammad Saljouqi in Taybad; and Behrouz Sheikhi in Behbahan.
On Tuesday, December 23, 17 prisoners were hanged: Afshin Tousi in Quchan; Milad Norouzi in Nowshahr; Jalal Taheri in Bukan; Sepehr Moradi in Mahshahr; Houshang Amiri in Neyshabur; two prisoners in Qaemshahr; Karim Yousefian in Khaf, Razavi Khorasan Province; Saman Barzegar in Birjand; Yazdan Jouzipour in Yazd; Shirzad Chamani and Qanbar Farhadi in Ilam; Safarali Sadeghi and Habib Amouri in Ahvaz; Nejat Yari in Borazjan; and Manouchehr Mahaki in Jiroft.
On Monday, December 22, 11 prisoners were executed. In addition to those named in a previous statement, they included Mohammadreza Madadi, 30, and Kazem Hamidi in Gorgan, and another prisoner in Isfahan.
On Thursday, December 25, another group of prisoners was hanged. The names of five have been confirmed: Amin Saffari in Bojnurd; Majid Khani in Sari; Heshmat Beigi in Ferdows; and Morad Karimi-Galeh and Norouz Khalafi in Shushtar. The names of other victims will be announced upon verification.
This brings the total number of executions since the start of the Iranian year 1404 to 1,900, more than double that of the previous year.
