Key statements and positions

“A very good conversation (with the Prime Minister of Canada). Thank you! I informed them about the state of our diplomatic work with the United States and about the first documents that, one could say, are ready. We are also working to finalize documents that still require attention,”

– Zelensky

The president noted that Canada clearly understands the need for joint work to guarantee security and the real rebuilding of Ukraine.

We also note that at the international level work is ongoing on documents in bilateral format and with Coalition partners, particularly refining those provisions that require attention.

“In the coming days, much can be done both on the bilateral level between Ukraine and the United States, and with our Coalition partners who are willing. It is important that we all together and constructively contribute to Ukraine’s protection of life, to our frontline positions and to the effectiveness of the negotiation process,”

– Zelensky

Zelensky outlined that Russia remains the factor that slows processes and spends time on dialogues without concrete results.

“We believe that there should be no breaks or interruptions when bloodshed does not stop. We thank everyone in the world who supports this very approach. Thank you, Canada,”

– Zelensky

The discussion of the Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Mihal was also reported by the head of the Ukrainian state on Telegram.

“Good conversation. Now we have a great chance to stop the bloodshed and achieve a decent peace, and I informed the Prime Minister about the latest details of our talks with the American side. It is important for us that partners understand the situation and are as involved as possible,”

– Zelensky

Zelensky and Kristen Mihal discussed further cooperation and the importance of continuing support for Ukraine.

“Estonia has been helping us a lot since the very beginning of Russia’s full-scale aggression, and this country will coordinate the NB8 countries’ work starting January 1,”

– Zelensky

Joint projects within the SAFE program and the importance of the PURL program, which strengthens air defense and protects Ukraine’s energy system, were also discussed.

“Thank you for your willingness to help wherever it is needed,”

– Zelensky

Following the talks, it was noted that a security guarantees agreement between Ukraine and the United States remains nearly ready. Such steps indicate strengthened cooperation and support from partners amid the current circumstances.

Zelensky also emphasized the importance of further coordination with allies and continuing close cooperation within bilateral and multilateral formats to support Ukraine.
