  15. Please remember, all of these bizarre appointments of completely unfit, unqualified people to positions of power follow one key principle: loyalty over all else – and especially over competence.

    The last administration Trump appointed actual competent public servants to posts and every one of them turned on him, because, well, thats what you do with a boss who is a completely amoral idiot. So he prefers amoral incompetence in his toadies.

    The only thing Trump cares about is having people around who will do what he says and tell him how great he is. A distant second is having good looking women answering to him. So this checks both boxes.
