  1. I love seeing brand name shit having micro-b and Temu tat having type-c, that only works with a cable that us usb-a on the other end.

I like the idea, needs better enforcement, but how would it be done. Atleast iPhones have type-c after apple dragging their feet on implementing a connector they co-invented.

  2. This is hardly something that needs to be regulated at EU level.

Locking everyone to USB-C just prevents better alternatives from being developed

  3. Still inferior to British plugs

Edit: I mean the 3 prong wall plugs. Compared to a lot of international standards or only 2 live prongs

  4. regulate me!

  5. USB-C would be much better without the piece in the middle forcing the connector to be hollow though

  6. just wish you’d hurry the fuck up on deciding between the port on the power bricks…usb-a or usb-c make up ur mind

  7. One Europe… hmm this reminds me of a certain Charlie Chaplin speech

  8. I read an interview. There was a Dutch guy that had to lobby for an insane number of years to make this happen.

  9. Just one cable, but not all the cable are the same…

Nor the chargers, not all support all the possible voltages; And I found a trap on a meross air purifier with its PSU, just a 12v brick wired to an usb-c connector, no PD, you can fry any device which can’t take 12v with it.

And a lot of devices have an usb-c connector but doesn’t support PD, so don’t work with most usb-c chargers because the standard is not to provide power without PD negotiation, the ones that provide 5v by default are non compliant…

And the mixup with older charging protocols, QC2.0 et all…

And the usb-c to usb-a cables, not all wired with all pairs to support usb 3.0 and higher, or just wired to one side of the usb-c connector so they only work on a specific position…

I bought an usb cable tester to go through my cable drawer, to see which cables just charge, which do [usb 2.0, 3.0, 3.1, 3.2, 4.0…](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB)

And which cables can do PD 100w or higher….

And the ones that are thunderbolt certified….

And all the non compliant male-female or female-female usb-c extensors…

I suppose that in a few years it will be more easy and straightforward, but nowadays there is a lot of nuance to the “one cable, one charger” thing. You should know what you buy and/or use.
