Today’s hero is u/perestroika-pw — After the last post that I shared on r/Eesti, although he has some business in Tallinn and limited time, he drove here w his car (1.5h distance), brought this bike to my refugee camp, made the last arrangements and he gave it to me. What a guy. Unbelievable!

Considering that he actually informed me and helped me about the situations on this subreddit when I was in St. Petersburg before my arrival to Estonia (I had opened a topic here about asylum), with the other helpful Estonians, now we became able to see each other face to face. And also I was only hoping somebody would give useful second hand trading website links in Estonia for purchasing a bicycle, but this happened. Life is full of surprises.

  7. Wow, thanks for the good words. 🙂 I hope the bike rides well. It was the only one I had available which seemed complete. Others were either missing the front or rear wheel, or missing pedals or gear changers. 😀

    P.S.

    Vao is really (really) in the back woods. I am surprised at how people survive there with no connection to the outside world except Internet. There is no “Bolt” there, and no “Tuul” either, except the tuul that can blow people off their feet on a bigger field. 😛

    If I needed to pick a location for a refugee center, I would pick somewhere more populated. 😮

  8. This guy is very smart and, as I can see now, also generous. Unfortunately we have significant difference of opinions about what is happening in Ukraine now, but generally I enjoy discussions with him and have a lot of respect for him. And his deed definitely deserves a shoutout!

  9. Kindness really is one of the core values of humanity. Nice to have here in Reddit people who are kind and also those who know how to appreciate that.
