Oh good lord, give it a rest. While I agree that her being a Type A workaholic makes her difficult to work for, the endless micromanaging of her employees is ridiculous. She’s paying them out of her own pocket.
I’m sure the Sussexes would not invoke any NDAs if a former employee came forward to speak about what great employers they were, caring about staff and work/life balance, how there was a great team spirit etc.
what is very telling is that several former employees put “crisis management” as part of their job descriptions. That says it all really. The Sussexes lurch from one crisis to another and never seem to have a strategy for dealing effectively with such things
Yeah if weirdo racist freaks kept harassing me because of my former employer I’d probably keep them off my LinkedIn too. Funny how the press hounding has created its own issue for the press to write about, I’m sure that’s definitely not by design.
These stories are such nothing burgers. Most of the folks in this article hopped to multiple different jobs AFTER leaving H+M. And a few left for VP-level jobs at bigger companies, so is it really H+M’s fault someone left them for a bigger job? Isn’t that what most folks aim to do in their careers?
I get the Daily Mail is trying to paint a picture that H+M are terrible employers, but it doesn’t work in their favor to list out the employers folks’ worked for after H+M.
The press has made it such that any mention of the Sussexes by anyone is immediate grounds for harassment and “investigation.” Be it friends, acquaintances, employees, etc.
Look I tend to think Meghan in particular is not a great boss for a variety of reasons. But the double standards the British press apply to her while ignoring all the shit reported about BRF staff generally is ridiculous.
Reading this article nearly everyone went on to senior roles at bigger companies. Most name Harry and Meghan on their resumes. And many continued to work with them in consulting capacities. Daily Mail as usual engagement farming knowing people will only read the title.
They will be harassed to no end. Meghan’s friends can’t even mention her name without their insta comments becoming a racist cesspool.
Yeah I can’t imagine why when there’s articles like this still being written 🙄
Gee, I can’t imagine why former staff wouldn’t mention them in their bios when literally any person, organization, charity, school gets attacked for mentioning them. Could it be the abusive press and royalists?
Yet they have other employees who have been with them for years and many have gone on to bigger and better roles.
When reading articles like this or having discussions like this, you have to understand where it really comes from. The British press love to put out bad press about this couple and they have an army of haters out there. I love this sub, but I have to admit there are some really big “Harry and Meghan haters” in here too.
Daily Mail?

It’s nothing to do with H&M and everything to do with the DM and why it’s close to a joke in UK.
The DM is however (and very much to my surprise) increasingly popular in US, and tailors its content to what it’s US readership clicks on
I think a lot of the criticism of Meghan is rooted in racist tropes and the fact Meghan has held the tabloids to account has made them resent her. That said, I do wish she’d address this head on: sweep things out of the front door rather than under the carpet, as the saying goes. If she had come out and said something like, *“I’m sorry to hear people saying they had bad experiences. I try to be a good, thoughtful employer and it saddens me to hear this feedback. I have high standards because I’m representing so many people, and I’m under a lot of scrutiny meaning any job representing me comes with pressure. I myself have expressed how hard I’ve found the pressure and scrutiny sometimes and I empathise with anyone in the same position. I’m very upfront about what working for me entails and it’s not for everyone, but I’m truly grateful to everyone who has contributed to our work and helped so many people”* I think it would have gone away a lot sooner.
This kind of news is just plain harassment from the British Media. I don’t know of any other celebrity whom the media hounds the histories of ex-employees and PR persons so regularly.
