President Zardari commended Field Marshal Asim Munir for providing India with a decisive response through his leadership.
India and Pakistan continue to have a strained and increasingly hostile relationship. Recent months have seen Pakistan’s military leadership making aggressive comments about India on several occasions, which has further eroded what was already a fragile relationship. As these comments are often made in the context of increasing diplomatic friction, cross-border security issues, and longstanding territorial disputes, they serve to keep the region in an extremely precarious state.
Amid this backdrop, Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari attacked India while commemorating the death of his late wife, Benazir Bhutto. Furthermore, he also brought attention to the comments made by Indian Prime Minister Modi regarding how to better manage issues between the two countries. In reference to the confrontation between India and Pakistan in May of this year, President Zardari threatened India with a warning.
He made the outrageous claim that India was unable to “stand on its feet” for four days. However, the world saw differently through satellite and video imagery: Indian missiles and drones caused widespread destruction in Pakistan. 11 Pakistani Air bases were destroyed, at a minimum of five fighter jets were shot down, and reportedly more than 100 Pakistani army personnel were killed during that time.
According to President Zardari, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir had taken a strong stand against Indian aggression and added that after Pakistan’s firm position, India had realised that war was “not a child’s play”. The President went on to say that Pakistan’s commander-in-chief had answered India “by looking into the eyes of the eternal enemy.” He alleged that India could not maintain such a situation for even four days; therefore, Prime Minister Narendra Modi must have come to realise that the act of going to war involves courage, resolve, and sacrifice.
President Zardari indicated that Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir foreshadowed India with a definitive response and, therefore, represented the nation of Pakistan at a pivotal time. He viewed the army chief as supporting Pakistan’s sovereignty and playing a crucial role in standing firm with the country.
President Zardari commended Field Marshal Asim Munir for providing India with a decisive response through his leadership. He noted that the Army Chief has demonstrated unwavering support for the country while also playing a crucial role in the protection of Pakistan’s Constitution.
According to Zardari, Pakistan’s position and leadership are being recognized by other countries now. He even stated that former President Donald Trump of the United States praised Field Marshal Asim Munir.
According to the media reports, he alleged that PM Modi had become aware that the party workers are prepared to join in the fight. Zardari said that his followers are also willing to take up arms, give their lives, and defend the nation at whatever it takes.
Furthermore, he dismissed the “roti or bullet” argument and declared that Pakistan would have the strength to retaliate “by any means possible.” While he did not mention India, he indicated that the other side cannot sustain a war for four days, even though they present themselves as a much larger and wealthier economy than Pakistan. Zardari was trying to question the determination of India and depict Pakistan as a country that is fearless and determined to face the consequences.
