COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. – Cottage Grove’s Main Street has completed its long-awaited renovations, breathing new life into this historic district. The updates include ADA-compliant sidewalks, new landscape utilities, and street furnishings, enhancing the heart of the town.
Residents are already feeling the positive impact of these improvements. Arthur Huebner, a long-time patron of Bookmine on Main, expressed his excitement about the changes.
“Main Street is accessible. And of course, I’m always walking around here and you know it’s good exercise and the process of redoing Main Street occurred very efficiently and was run really well by the city,” said Huebner.
The renovations have sparked enthusiasm among local business owners as well. Stacie Quimby, co-owner of Pour 818 on Main, noted the uptick in customer traffic.
“We’ve definitely noticed a difference just with accessibility and people that you know and just attracting other businesses even to come down and just to hopefully cause the downtown to thrive again,” said Quimby.
For over 100 years, this stretch of road has been a crucial part of Cottage Grove’s community. With the construction complete, the town eagerly looks forward to a revitalized and accessible Main Street.
