I have a gut feeling China will want to make another autonomous region out of Myanmar.
It would make an efficient sea trade setup and route to places like Africa and the Middle East.

But but but they are the country that never “interferes in others’ internal affairs.” They pinky promised never ever to do so.
China already controls the 2 major ports in Myanmar- Kyaukphyu and Sittwe which gives it access to the Indian Ocean- another alternate routing if there was a blockade at the Strait of Malacca.
It gets along well with the Military junta but struggles with the drug cartels in the Shan state. It has also used the forces in Rakhine state and Chin states in the past to target the north east corridor of India (Nagaland and Mizoram).
It would be in China’s best interests to keep the junta in power in Yangon.
