It is hard to figure if that was or not more bizarre then the “primordial significance” claim given the incident…

    >[Her submission also](https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/boris-johnson-can-rip-up-northern-ireland-protocol-attorney-general-rules-3xmcv8ws8) details “societal unrest” and cites hoax bomb attacks, including one targeting Simon Coveney, the Irish foreign minister. “There are increasing signs of violence in Northern Ireland,” the source said. “That can’t be allowed to carry on.”

…is pretty much directly related to all the lies Johnson and his gang fed to the loyalists of NI, and so with little outbursts from them too.

It does look like this new attempt to attack the Protocol would not be happening if wasn’t being pushed by [Canzini](https://np.reddit.com/r/unitedkingdom/comments/un3qzi/brexit_uk_rejects_eu_proposal_to_limit_impact_of/i85rzuq/).

  2. Funny that the EU were happy to use Article 16 to scrap the border deal and impose border controls in Ireland when they thought (falsely) that vaccines were getting to the UK via Ireland.
Of course the EU changed their mind literally within hours when pretty much everyone, Sinn Fein, the DUP, the Taoiseach, the WHO etc said they were stupid. When you have Sinn Fein **and** the DUP saying you fucked up then you know you fucked up.
The EU announced they were doing this to impose border controls. The UK is doing this to *remove* border controls.

  3. A treaty that has as its aim to prevent sectarian divison if it fails to do this obviously needs to be amended. The parts that actually seem to be causing the trouble are less to do with the protocal as means to avoid said division and more to do with EU customs rules. The EU are more interested in holding to those rules than anything to do with the actual problems in Northern Ireland it seems.
