According to a report from the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), the exercise involved specialized missile sub-units. Kim Jong Un expresses satisfaction with results
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un personally observed the launches, with KCNA quoting him as expressing “great satisfaction” with the outcome. He framed the regular testing of nuclear deterrent components as a legitimate right to self-defense, citing persistent external security threats to justify the development.
Reaffirmation of nuclear force commitment
The report also featured Kim reaffirming Pyongyang’s unwavering commitment to further developing its nuclear combat forces. Such provocations contribute to regional instability in Northeast Asia and underscore the ongoing challenges to global non-proliferation efforts, concerns shared by the international community, including Türkiye.
