  1. This can get comments from “I told you so” untill “actually, it’s never been safer, everything is fine, all who believe this graph are stupid”.

Here’s a 5 minute video by university flanders on the topic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0pQUA1QkoU

Please watch it, before writing down the first thing that comes to mind.

  2. It might seem shit but the vast majority of robberies in europe, including spain and belgium, are perpetrated without harming the victim, unlike the us, or south america, where robberies are at gunpoint.

  3. Maybe the majority of robberies just aren’t reported in eastern european countries, or some other reason, idk.

  4. 2019 pre covid times
2022 the amount of home invasions are extremely low.
    Covid:
    1) gangs could not move easely around during pandemic and cross borders
    2) people worked at home

I expect an extreme rise in home invasions after during and after summer 2022 when the gangs start moving towards us again.

I can say i see this very well in our numbers of sales since we sell home security systems.
Only 30% of our yearly turnover is left compared to 2019-2020 for private houses. B2B sales are more or less same level still.
Before i was making 3 price offers a day B2C. Last week i made 2 in total in 5 days.

  5. As a Belium this suprised me a lot.

I’m guessing that in many other countries not all robberies are reported. Also, Antwerp + Brussel are probably skewing the numbers of our country as a whole.

  6. Everyone is surprised about Belgium…
Noone talk how safe Albania is, in comparison…

    Way to go Albania!
