In Paris, at the start of January, a meeting of the so-called coalition of the willing will take place, where they plan to agree on and record each country’s contributions to the system of security guarantees for Ukraine.

According to French President Emmanuel Macron, together with other European leaders he took part in a joint discussion with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and U.S. President Donald Trump, after which he spoke separately with Zelensky.

Macron noted that the sides are making progress on the issue of security guarantees, which he described as a central element for building a just and lasting peace.

The Goal of the Meeting and Its Expected Impact on the Peace Process

Holding talks within the framework of the coalition of the willing highlights Europe’s efforts to form a reliable system of guarantees for Ukraine, which should strengthen its defense and lay a solid foundation for lasting peace in the region.

It is expected that during the meeting they will agree on the specific contributions of each country and outline mechanisms for monitoring the fulfillment of the obligations, which will help increase trust in the process and reduce the risks of escalation in the future.
