China launches large-scale military exercise around Taiwan

1. Interesting that this comes less than a day after Russia reiterated its opinion that Taiwan is apart of the People’s Republic of China.

2. And the world holds its breath – is this it? Is this the beginning of the invasion? Worldwide the price of silver skyrockets – is it related? To even give credence to the possibility of a Chinese invasion of Taiwan raises contemplation of the overwhelming consequences.

3. This comes shortly after Taiwan recognised Somaliland, another “breakaway” state. From what I understand, the CCP isn’t too fond of recognising breakaways because of potential implications for itself and Taiwan, and was probably irritated by Taiwan’s move to do so, seeing it as an affront to its policies. This is likely another show of force to remind Taiwan not to push its luck regarding these issues.

4. It’s pretty much guaranteed that they will invade at some point. The question is when, and will it be paired with a Russian first-strike in Europe.
