It looks like this double socket is also an extention!

  1. Those are all fairy lights, right? Total power draw likely does not exceed 200W – peanuts.

  2. Can get a couple more appliances plugged in there

  3. Nothing wrong at all. It’s mostly low current and fused anyway. It just looks like shit.

  4. UK extensions have a fuse in them, so it’s safe to do this. Worst case you’ll burn out the fuse and it’ll all turn off.

The USA is the place you shouldn’t do this, because there most splitters are unfused so you really can burn your house down.

  5. How problematic that is really depends really depends what is connected to the plug in the middle. Everything we can see connected is so low power there is no risk of overload, so if that white cable vanishing round the side is also more lights then no issue

  6. It’s all well and good being fused and having a low current draw, but personally, I don’t have much faith in those adapters as from my own experience, the quality of them is shockingly bad. Proper extensions and adapters from a reputable place, sure! But I bet those are just cheap tat from any budget online marketplace.

  7. Look like plugs for fairy lights. The power draw is so small its negligible

  8. If each of the plugs is fused, its super safe.

  9. As it is, I don’t see a problem. Stupid people are a problem. If someone plugs in six kettles and a couple of fan heaters after Xmas, that’s a problem, but most likely a breaker will trip or a fuse might blow. People do understand fuses, don’t they? 🤣

  10. I’m sure they could have just bought an 8 strip extension

  11. Doesn’t look good but they’re all low power devices. I’d be amazed if this totals anywhere near 150W – which those sockets can easily take.

  12. I won’t hear anything against Balham Paint & Hardware Company

  13. Literal crybaby that doesn’t understand what they’re even looking at. There’s barely any current being drawn and they all have fuses = very safe

  14. While unsightly, that is an amateur amount of things being powered from a twin wall socket.

  15. You could double that up and it still not be an issue. Fairy lights draw hardly any power

  16. Pardon my ignorance but if the total load of devices does not draw over its rating this could be safe? Say they’ve plugged in fairy lights … they draw about 10 watts.

  17. Yeah in the UK this is totally fine. Worst case scenario you blow a fuse.

  18. What would happen if you boiled six kettles in that setup?
