That’s insane

  1. The US generally add a lot of ice to bring the liquid to fill level, but with how insanely unhealthy (but amazing) the coke is over there; a large coke is still considerably more unhealthy than the same in the UK, regardless of ice ratio.

  2. Do Americans actually polish off an entire large drink? Or is this just a marketing ploy for them to take the unfinished drink with them and advertise McDonald’s at the same time?

  3. As an American I just want you to know you are thinking small here. There is 1 for the meal, 1 to top off and then 1 for the road. It’s really going to be atleast 2 – 2.5

  4. I can never finish the large UK ones, they always end up in the bin

  5. [The internet is eating itself. I posted this to Reddit two years ago from my old account. Someone then tweeted it and someone has taken a screenshot of said tweet only to post it back to Reddit.](https://www.reddit.com/r/interestingasfuck/s/iDvo2rPLod)

Whoever Eclipse Booty is, I assume they’re an OF model using bots to drive engagement to their accounts.

  6. They say that’s insane but I remember the Super Size options they used to offer!

  7. Ngl, I could do a litre chocolate milkshake easy, its the best thing on their menu!

  8. Their small is almost as big as our large…. no wonder why American’s are fat.

    Edit: spell-check

  9. Wait until you hear about the free refills in any McDonald’s in a 24-hour period…

  10. I went to America not long ago. The drink portions are outrageous BUT what’s even more outrageous is how much of it is ice, you do get more drink in a US small compared to a UK large but you also get enough ice cubes to keep a family of 9 cool for a hot summer

  11. Average UK BMI 27.6

    Average US BMI 29

    Jus’ sayin’

  12. Near on 2 pints of coke? Who the fuck can drink.that much?

USA small is a UK large….

Last time it was in Donald Land as it will soon be renamed, I asked for water in a Wendy’s and youd think I asked for unicorn tears….

  13. I visited the US. They gave me a litre cup and said it’s unlimited free refills. I filled it halfway, that was enough.

  14. Consuming that amount of liquid in one sitting would hurt my sides 🙁

  15. Trying to get a small drink in the US is a minefield lol

  16. I mean, it’s not really any different than sinking two pints in the pub.

  17. Unsurprising. I was introduced to the increased size of American portions when I went there for the first time – the first thing I ordered for food was a steak sandwich. I was expecting something that was, you know, the size of a sandwich, but the waitress came back with what looked like half a cow stuffed between two slices of bread.

Still ate it, mind. When in Rome and all that…

  18. I do remember when I was in Boston some years back I went in a corner shop, some kind of 7-11 type place and they had a self-serve drinks machine. The smallest size was $1 and the cup was enormous, it must have been about 1.5 litres. I filled it with root beer with only a small amount of ice, it felt like a crazy bargain compared to UK prices. I also really like the concept of self-serve soft drinks in convenience stores, only place I can think of here where you can do that is in a Burger King or Nandos, it’s not something you see much. You know, I don’t always want a can or a bottle, sometimes a nice paper cup with a bit of ice is what hits the spot.

  19. It’s a bit misleading. The amount of ice McDonald’s puts in cups in America is insane and usually takes up about half the cup. That’s not an exaggeration.

  20. I don’t want a large Farva, I want a goddamn litre of cola

  21. There’s a reason why the US is the obesity and heart disease capital of the world….

  22. I don’t want a large Farva, I want a goddamn litre o’ cola
