Covid: Superhero images unhelpful, says nurse chief

  1. We have abandoned religion, but not the need for religion. We replaced the spot it formerly held with football teams, media franchises and government departments. Exactly the same sorts of behaviours for exactly the same reasons. The banging of pots and pans and the rainbow drawing of today are the penance walks of centuries ago.

  2. The NHS is now scrambling to deal with an unprecedented backlog and patients are taking that out on staff, blaming them for the failing system and not the government. Portraying nurses as heroes but then treating them and their colleagues like shit for something entirely out of their control is a dichotomy lost on some people.

  3. The article in my opinion was kinda spot on.

It’s a good thing because it encourages little boys and little girls to grow up looking at the NHS as role models and wanting to be like them or become them when they grow older

On the other hand, although trainee nurses is going up, its keeping them and letting them have an actual life outside of saving others. I really hope someone much smarter than myself comes up with a plan because I do feel lost for them sometimes. It makes me guilty to turn up at A&E knowing how busy they are.
