actually there is no law that prevents this. its totaly legal to stop on the crosswalk in trafic. you cannot ofc stop there and go out, also you cannot do this in regulated distance from the crosswalk but in traffic its ok.
There is no question that you should stop before if you see that traffic will make you stop on the crosswalk but if so the other guy is a dickhead and not one in the car.

Not many years ago drivers didn’t even have to stop for pedestrians waiting to cross on marked or unmarked crosswalks(No traffic lights), the law was actually implemented in june,2021.
In Chile, you stand in front of him, extend your arms, and start insulting him. If he tries to run you over, you can report him for attempted homicide and minor injuries.

My dad stops at hecking crosswalk and once i was driver he was mad at me because i stoped before crosswalk.
Only word I understood was kurwa 🤣

I kinda understand it when a driver is a jerk and clearly doesn’t care about others.
BUT
Sometimes it just happens by accident, even to the most careful and considerate drivers. Traffic flows and then suddenly stops out of nowhere, and you sit on a crosswalk like an idiot with no way to clear it.
