A Russian shadow tanker that sank off the coast of Spain was carrying nuclear reactor parts bound for North Korea.

Though the ship’s manifest listed only empty containers and port equipment, aerial images revealed two large, undeclared containers at the stern. Authorities later identified them as housings for VM-4SG nuclear reactors.

Spain concluded the shipment was headed for the North Korean port of Rason, which lacks the infrastructure to handle such cargo without specialized cranes—also found onboard.

On December 22, Spanish maritime controllers noticed the vessel losing speed and listing without explanation.

A distress signal followed on December 23. Spanish rescue units responded and found the ship heavily tilted. The captain claimed mechanical failure, but hull damage showed signs of an external strike consistent with a supercavitating torpedo.

The Russian warship Ivan Gren soon arrived, demanded control of the site, and launched flares—likely to disrupt satellite surveillance. Shortly after, the Ursa Major disappeared from the surface. Seismographs recorded underwater explosions, and the ship sank to a depth of 2,500 meters.

I keep expecting them to draw their swords and yell, “Charge!”

We should get a chance soon to see what this cruise missile can do.

Ukraine’s getting a serious upgrade: the Czech Narwhal cruise missile. It’s jam-resistant, terrain-hugging, and arrives in early 2026 for frontline use.

Not a warehouse donation — it’s a future weapon, tested in today’s war.

Norway should not permit this.

What do you suppose Ukraine should do with such spies?

Another 1,180 Russians who rolled snake eyes. Plus 3 more tanks for the scrap heap.

Years ago during a presidential debate Gerald Ford said that Poland was not dominated by the Soviet Union and he was brutally ridiculed for it. Trump says something way stupider and it barely registers with the media.

Russia has already torpedoed the latest peace negotiations.

Russia is just looking for excuses to blow up the latest peace negotiations.

Russia’s Foreign Minister Lavrov claims Ukraine launched a drone attack on Putin’s presidential residence in Novgorod on Dec. 29. He said Russia’s negotiation stance will be adjusted in response to what he called “state terrorism,” but added Moscow won’t withdraw from peace talks.

If Russia were to strike government buildings in Kyiv, it would be a significant escalation. It would also mean that the Kremlin would become a legitimate target. That doesn’t mean hitting the Kremlin itself would be a good idea, but hitting government office buildings like the Ministry of Defense would be fair game.

Further proof that Zelenskyy is a skilled politician who knows how to deal with Trump.

NO BREAKTHROUGH IN MIAMI AS TRUMP APPEARS BAMBOOZLED

My take from Trump’s reaction to what was presented is that he in the surface recognises that it’s a good thing. He couldn’t easily find anything to argue with until someone tells him he should pick this point or that.

— The Analyst (@militaryanalyst.bsky.social) December 29, 2025 at 1:51 AM

He said it was a very complicated situation to resolve and then later that it wasn’t actually that complicated. A sure sign he doesn’t fully grasp what’s being discussed. There were no explosions. Zelensky presented the very thing that Trump wanted to hear and he had no ready arguments to make against Zelensky – leaving him in a situation that he has got from Ukraine what he wanted and sees as reasonable – but he must know the Russians will never go for half of it. They were busy moving the goal posts again over the weekend. Demanding that unless they were shown respect, NATO expansion stopped and forces withdrawn from NATO countries on their borders, well nothing was going to change. All of which is out of Trump’s control and Ukraine can do nothing about. Zelensky has called Trump and Putin’s bluff. Trump can’t blame Zelensky for not compromising and Russia is left looking petulant and intractable. How exactly can Trump ignore Putin’s behaviour now? He will find a way of doing nothing for longer of course, but I feel one of those Trump step back ‘and let them fight it out’ moments coming again.

Here’s Trump briefing the media on the latest negotiations. Sort of. 😂

It is easy to dismiss guys like this as crackpots but it was also easy to dismiss the project 2025 architects as crackpots. Sometimes the crackpots gain power and fuck everything up.

Meanwhile in Russia: political scientist Sergey Mikheyev says that the majority of Russians are in favor of nuclear strikes against Ukraine and the rest of Europe. He says Russia should destabilize the European Union with an ultimate goal of destroying it.
