The truth is that Trump never publicly said that and this claim originates from a Russian source who said that Trump said this in a call. I don’t know the Russian source but let’s not spread russian misinformation by accident.

    Edit: that being said it seems like trump may have fallen for Putin claims because trump is saying that it’s uncalled for while also acknowledging he doesn’t know if it occurred. So who the hell knows what trump thinks.
