  1. Hopefully eventually we will use the option for the 2 others and fully replace the e-3.

  2. They did shoot down multiple Rafales earlier this year.

  3. Does the UK acknowledge that by buying E-7 they fund the development of weapons that will be used against them, other commonwealth and EU countries, to commit war crimes and start aggressive wars?

  4. Read that Germany is also looking into the Globaleye. perhaps it will completely replace the US E-3 / E-7 in Europe. A good start

  5. I wonder if they’ll keep the Bombardier airframe or go for something French such as Falcon or A319.

  6. Surprised they didn’t get E2 Hawkeye’s since they run them off the carrier already. Good on them for buying European

  7. It’s an $80 million dollar Bombardier jet made in Canada, packed with $200 million in EW equipment in Sweden. Airbus owns 75% of Bombardier, making the actual plane at least European owned. This plane was in production before Airbus bought Bombardier btw.

Now, it’s a good thing to make the plane in Canada because if Russia is your enemy (and they are), that puts the supply chain out of reach of most Russian missiles. Other than the money, I think this is a major reason why Sweden wants Canada to chose the Saab Grippen AND build them in Canada. It worked last time! In WW2, Canada built 10k military aircraft and gave them to Britain. We built another 8k for ourselves as well. 🇨🇦🤝🇪🇺

Edit: Airbus owns only 75% of the C series plane/program and not all of Bombardier. That’s what I get for trusting the stupid Google AI search results. 🤦
