A damaged natural gas line prompted evacuation of a store in Jurupa Valley Tuesday.
The gas leak was reported at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday inside the Walgreens near the intersection of Limonite Avenue and Clay Street, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said several engine crews were sent to the location and immediately confirmed the presence of gas, leading to an evacuation of the premises.
No one required medical attention.
Firefighters determined a gas line had been compromised, but no other details were available Tuesday afternoon.
SoCal Gas Co. technicians were summoned to secure the line. As of 1:45 p.m., they were not yet at the scene.
Customers and store staff were asked to remain clear of the storefront.
Surrounding businesses were not evacuated.
