  1. A few interesting observations:

    1. Interesting split between north and south in Italy, Spain and Ireland.
    2. EU’s economic engine seems to be very concentrated. It’s the belt from Netherlands down to and around Switzerland (northern Italy, southern Germany, western Austria, etc.)
    3. Eastern European capitals, especially Vilnius, Warsaw, Prague and Bratislava are going strong.

  2. It really shows how Berlin is such an outlier.

The action is in southern Germany and northern Italy, BeNeLux, Rhein/Ruhr metro area, Austria and probably all of Switzerland if it were included in the map.

  3. The divide of north and south italy is so big. Its kinda sad corruption and an incompetent political class has prevented south italy from developing

  4. Happy to see Lower Silesia is doing alright. Wroclaw is a very dynamic city.

Surprised North-West Romania isn’t in the light orange category considering Cluj is there.

Surprised the Hungarian region with Pecs and Szeged aren’t light orange, but the one to the west of Budapest (is that Veszprem?) is.
