Conor Burns, styled under a new title of “special representative to the US on the NI protocol”.
That makes me the administrative supervisor of the keyboard for the generation of writing targeted for a specific audience.
I suspect the Americans will have a quiet word, they have already made a statement yesterday.
It’s amazing how concerned Brexiters are now about Northern Ireland when they never ever mentioned it in the run up to the vote.
Edit to add the DUP got 10% of first preference votes last Thursday, less than ukips 12.5% in the 2015 general election.
How sad that NI has to rely on foreign governments and trade blocs to defend its interests instead of its own government.
Tories, and their supporters, should hang their heads in shame. Not that they will, that would require self-awareness.
That should read ‘Liz Truss’s and Boris’s plan to make the UK a pariah state by breaking an international agreement with the EU’.
Any Tory voters here care to defend these idiots? Would love to hear your logic for this.
I’m no expert, but a trade war doesn’t sound like it will help with inflation, or the cost of living crisis.
It sounds like it will actually make both of these things much worse.
Oh, just call a border poll already, let’s have a United Ireland in 2024.
I really can’t understand what is going on in government any more or why anyone would vote for these people. This is a colossally bad idea at a colossally bad time. It’s like they are actively trying to destroy the UK at this point.
They won’t do it. This is just “tough talk” for Tory voters and brexiteers.
She’s just throwing shapes to make herself popular in the Tories, she has her eye on the leadership.
She, or the Tories, don’t give a shit about Northern Ireland.
We can have norther Ireland or we can have the ‘hard brexit’ we have now. But we can’t have both
I don’t see how this doesn’t eventually end in a united Ireland as there is now a de facto border between NI and the Great Britain
