  2. If you are building new, you’d be crazy to not skip the gas line and do a geothermal system. Heat or cool for peanuts.

  3. Sounds good on the surface, and may garner some votes, and praise for doing something. But it looks to me to be a plan that will not help much, and be pushed out longer and longer. I see this tackling a difficult sector to clean up, old use and replacement. Why wouldn’t they just change building codes tomorrow so that no new gas can be installed going forward? No extra cost involved, no costly replacements required, and in 25 years it would have a material effect on our pollution.

    Politically is safer to propose changes long into the future, rather than effect real change today. I see this plan as smoke and mirrors, nothing substantial.

  4. Hey, let’s mandate heat pumps and rule out natural gas then supply natural gas fired electricity to the same house.
