1. German morale was sky high in the spring of 1918. By fall it had totally collapsed. There’s been a lot of ‘rUsSiA iS gOiNg To CoLlApSe AnY dAy NoW!1!’ clickbait, but that doesn’t change the grim arithmetic of Putin’s special military operation. Militarily, economically, geostrategically, the war has been a disaster for Russia.

3. Since 2022. (Just to put the headline in perspective). But the numbers are rising.

   237 are known to have died after being swapped and then being sent to the front again.

   4 have been captured a second time.

4. What happens to all those that surrender?

5. I wonder if giving the detainees the option to remain in Ukraine could further turn up the pressure on Russia, both adding to the demographic cost of the war to Russia and helping Ukraine with manpower?

6. Ukraine should start recruiting them to the Freedom of Russia legion. Some of those guys might be desperate / angry enough to join even, and it’s not like Russians really have qualms about killing their own brethren.
