Love the argument people make to normalise racism as “free speech” fuckin wank stains

“Free Speech Is Never Wrong” is the opposite of the point of free speech.
“Free speech is wrong most of the time but important nonetheless” would be more true to the principle.
You guys do the best, don’t dump your time on racists to debate and say “fuck off will you” instead.
Does anybody else remember what a shithole this place was before the immigration?
Does anyone really want Ireland to be what it was like in the 60s or 70s or even before that?
Let me start up my Google Racist Translator app:
“bUt nOw I hAvE tO sEe bRoWn pEopLe!”
Ya, that’s what I thought.
Fun fact:
The user “Free Speech is Never Wrong” is a pedophile
And that is my free speech
Ireland is 96% white
to be fair, Ireland hasn’t had the same amount of immigration as germany/sweden etc. Ireland is an island behind an island so most immigrants just get absorbed by Britain.
The guy in the OP is definitely exaggerating the “diversity” in Ireland. Statistically Ireland is around 95% white. A lot of the immigrating was from eastern europe who are also white christians.
If you want to be a bigot in Ireland, pick on the Brits or travellers. No one will bat an eyelid.
Giving out about foreigners when up until recently people were out biggest export.
Always gives me a laugh.
Perhaps if the actual dance troupe Diversity was dancing in several street corners across Ireland at once, utilising a high-kicking routine with maximum exuberance, then it might be true to say we are all at risk of having diversity hitting us in the face.
People should be able to say whatever they want
-without judgement?
Ah jayzus no. Say whatever you want so I can judge you fairly ye bleedin arsehole!
It’s hard to walk through Dublin without a scumbag in your face is what he means surely
Do you remember the old nothing days? Remember them? There was no crime, no racism, because nothing had been invented yet.
Doesn’t matter what colour you are on the outside, as long as you are green on the inside.
That @ looks like an @ that would be from an American. That’s the kind of shit some American pull when they say they are the only countries with “real freedom of speech”.
Emphasis on some I know all Americans aren’t like that. (saying that if you are American and read me and don’t do that kind of shit).
That’s not far off “down with that sort of thing”.
Honestly a Dubliner is way more likely to be the one hitting you in the face.
-A Dubliner who hates this poxy shithole city.
I struggle to think of something more racist than getting mad at minorities for doing literally nothing other than existing
The amount of racism towards our brothers of African heritage on the national football team is rotten as well.
Oh excuse me sir, I’m sorry to bother you, I’ll take my professional expertise and two master degrees and leave your country.
P. S. In all fairness, Ireland is the least racist country I’ve ever been to. Great bunch of lads.
Black and brown people never did a thing wrong to this nation; look to the island to the east for a country that tried to make Ireland not Ireland.
I have plenty of Irish friends from immigrant backgrounds that could give you really clear examples of blatant Irish racism. I’m not saying we’re like the yanks, but we shouldn’t act like we are above racism quite yet.
Getting hit with “diversity” does not make walking through a street “hard.” Getting hit with a fist and an iron pipe because of your race, or because of your religion, makes walking through the street hard. Stop bitching about getting hit with “diversity.” What the fuck does that mean? You’re upset that someone serving you chips is black? You’re upset that someone has a rainbow flag in their window? Quit your crying and go bitch to the fucking wall.
Out of all the world, it makes the least sense for the Irish to be racist in any way imo. We were dominated by Britain and then the Church for centuries, called the Negro of Europe, and reviled in places we emigrated to (See No Blacks/ No Dogs/ No Irish signs up til the end of the last century).
Hell, we were a third world country til we joined the EU and the world took an interest in our damp religiously handicapped island. Following that, immigration and FDI brought us some well needed development, genetic diversity, and perspective.
Our culture and economy has massively benefitted from immigration after centuries of exploitation, repression, and stagnation. Think of the food we now have, the music, jobs, the new languages were exposed to, and new ways of seeing things.
I used to harbour the same resentments as the guy in the first comment, and occasionally, I still find myself with similar prejudices. However, after living with Brazilians, Indians, Chinese, Nigerians, Italians, Spaniards, Fins, and even people from Monaghan – I’ve discovered not only so many new and vibrant cultures, but also learnt the hurdles people (esp Non-EU) have put themselves through just to come here, work an honest job, and explore our country. I’m always surprised and deeply honoured by how excited they are by Ireland and all it entails – flawed as it is.
Not to say Ireland is in some state of perfection because of immigration etc. It’s still facing huge problems as we all know on this sub. However, my point is the place has improved since people began taking an interest in moving here instead of leaving.
Sure you can say what you want but expect a backlash if you say something moronic
Ireland not Ireland anymore. I can’t walk through the town square without all this technology hitting me in the face. Why can’t we go back to the old ways of sharp sticks and dysentery
If he keeps talking that shite, “diversity” will be kicking his teeth in as well
