WRGB Studios-Schenectady, NY — In 2025, Power & Politics featured officials, advocates and community leaders, bringing listeners and viewers unique perspectives through wide-ranging conversations, getting deeper into the issues impacting people the most, holding those individuals accountable along the way.

While it’s available on a variety of platforms, Power & Politics was also recognized in 2025 as a Regional Edward R. Murrow Award winner as Best Podcast.

As for some of the best moments, Power & Politics was ahead of everyone else as the 2026 Gubernatorial dominoes began to fall, featuring in-depth interviews with would-be candidates they probed a run.

Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman, a few weeks before announcing an official run for Governor, appeared on Power & Politics as he met with stakeholders in Albany.

New York State Lieutenant Governor Antonio Delgado, immediately following his announcement of not being on Governor Kathy Hochul’s 2026 ticket, appeared on Power & Politics.

In July, following a rash of juvenile crime and calls from officials to change Raise the Age legislation, Albany Police Chief Brendan Cox sat down on Power & Politics to discuss the issue.

After Donald Trump called on Texas lawmakers to gerrymander Congressional seats in favor of Republican in order to keep the House majority, blue states like New York considered their own Congressional Redistricting…despite legal complications. Morgan Hook, Partner at BlueJacket Strategies, went through scenarios in which Democrats could potentially redraw lines to pick up seats in New York.

In 2025, the most listened-to Power & Politics podcast was retired Saratoga County Judge James Murphy.
