  1. “A total of 41,472 migrants crossed the Channel in small boats in 2025 – almost 5,000 more than the previous year.

Home Office figures showed a 13% rise on the 36,566 total in 2024.

It was the highest number since 2022, when nearly 46,000 migrants crossed.

There were 28 days without any crossings from 15 November to 12 December, which some observers attributed to strong winds in the Channel.

Figures from the Home Office then showed 737 people arrived on 13 December, and more than 600 more in the following four days.

A total of 803 people arrived in 13 boats on 21 December, a record for a single day in December.

A Home Office spokesperson said: “The number of small boat crossings are shameful and the British people deserve better.”

    Yes, we do.

  2. Interesting that asylum claims have fallen dramatically in the EU whilst at the same rising in the UK.

  3. That’s ok, we’re going to be building dedicated social housing just for them next.

  4. Oh no, what do we do. Only Farage and his band of wealthy grifting clowns can save us.

  5. It would be easy to stop, but most people don’t have the stomach for it.

  6. This isn’t on my pressing list of things to solve, but my solution would be to remove 1 day of fishing rights for french vessels for every boat that crosses or is intercepted in our waters.

See how fast France helps then.

  7. If only there was an example of another island nation solving this in the last few years we could take as a starting point.

  8. So when it comes to it the Right courtesy of the Tory Party still tops the table for this and and arguably incompetence as they’ve “taken back control” of our boarders and made the situation worse?
