If you have to infringe International Laws go big I guess.
It was headed to Israel which does not apply sanctions to Russian steel like EU+UK does.
There, I’ve done the job for Finnish customs. They won’t have to consult international trade lawyers that charge €1,000/hr.
The fact that the ship was carrying sanctioned Russian steel makes this more than an isolated maritime incident. It raises questions about how sanctions are being evaded and who is turning a blind eye along the supply chain. Enforcement only works if violations are treated seriously and consistently across all member states.
but they werent ?? eu sanctions do not apply outside of the EU
example russia sold X to a middle east country how are EU sanctions invloved ?
What happened to the old mantra of ‘_Only one crime at a time_’?
Finland enforcing BDS is amazing.
Pootin be like: here, transport my illegal goods and do some damage on your way out
Crew: no idea, fuck.
Captain: fuck
good, fine for cables and confiscate the steel – use it to manufacture weapons and defensive structures.
Start seizing more ships. The Russians should learn that their Baltic Sea access is a privilege.
“boohoo what about treaties and international laws?” some will say, excuse me, what type of game do you think we’re playing here?
Can Putin slow down his criminal behavior for the holidays?
Give the steel and the ship to ukraine. Repeat with all of this shadow fleet. Give everything to ukraine. Pootin can end this by withdrawing at any time.
