I watched a video on embroidery with gold thread – it’s so complicated. You can only do a few stitches with a thread before it will unravel. Not many artists who can do that these days.

Her dress is one of my least favorite Royal Wedding dresses. She looks like she is drowning in it. I was very surprised to find out the cost.
Given how careful the Spanish RF has to be with their public perception, I’m shocked they would spend that kind of money for Letizia’s dress. Also, IMO, it wasn’t money well-spent. Hers is one of my least favorite royal wedding dresses. I absolutely hate the style of it.
So much money and likely every designer at your fingertips and she ended up with one of the worst royal wedding dresses.

Maybe it’s just my commoner blood talking, but £6 million seems … excessive.
Think about all the good that could have been done with that money instead.

According to Spanish media, Queen Letizia’s wedding dress had an estimated value of 45.000€, but the price paid was a symbolic 6.000€ as the designer intended it to be a gift.
I didn’t believe it because it was nice but not that nice and you can barely see the gold. But you were correct it was the most expensive of all time though every site seems to have a different price for all gowns but it’s still ridiculously exorbitant for no good reason. I would like to have seen an itemized invoice from the designer.
