In rare footage filmed by The Washington Post, wounded Russian soldiers are seen disembarking from a bus on Nov. 20 in Olkhovatka, Russia – Scenes like this one remain invisible to most Russians, erased by state propaganda and glossy government projects supporting returning veterans

  1. Everything you need to know is in one scene near the end. A poster of Stalin on the wall. Yeah, you can tell where this is going.

  2. “Eat well comrades! Tomorrow you will be back at the frontlines!”

  3. Union of soviet socialist republics and stalin…no more question

  4. Jesus Christ, just look at how some of those wounds have been treated. It’s clear they aren’t giving them proper care beyond making sure they don’t bleed out. Many of those are sure to get infected later down the line.

The most appalling thing after what Russia is doing to Ukrainians, is how they treat their own people.

  5. This is so staged. Whenever you see a huge feast for a few returning soldiers you know it’s propaganda.

  6. Counting bodies like sheep to the rhythm of the war drums

  7. Koba’s portrait in the background. Dude killed more russians than the black plague.

  8. I don’t know if anything describes modern Russia better than this video. Bunch of people maimed due to aggressive unneeded war they wage, eating near flags with Jesus and Stalin.

  9. They were resorting to T54s 3 years ago, now they’re relying on donkeys, but hey, as long as putin keeps selling russia to China all is good

  10. They were welcomed with rain, mud, wooden tables, and fake grapefruit Fanta.

This is as close to Sven Hassel’s depiction as it is to Borat. I wonder what music they had for the atmosphere or if it was all silent. Were there laughs?

    Absolutely fascinating.

  11. I saw a video of a Russian on crutches doing an “assault”. They send most of these guys back to the front in meat wave attacks. So Russians dont see the wounded. I dont have a link to the video, but it was from a reliable pro-ukrainian source. it was nuts.

Jake Broe is an American youtuber who makes videos about Ukraine. He had one piece he got from social media. A Russian surrendered to 2 Ukrainians. The Ukrainians could not rotate out. So for months he lived with them. He ended up helping them defend the positions because he knew the Russians would kill him. He can never go back to Russia. I don’t know if the Ukrainians will let him stay or if he will have to go to another country.

  12. These guys will be sent to remote islands and left there to rot. The Soviets already did that once. They called these soldiers “samovari”.

Truly despicable and cruel behavior to treat your veterans like subhumans, but it’s to be expected when you start these unjustifiable wars.

  13. A wee bit of grub and vodka and these boys are ready for the frontlines tomorrow.

  14. Looks fake. Doesn’t sound like Russia if they provide food and shelter for the wounded.

  15. In Germany state police is beating Gaza protesters on the daylight and nothing happens

    what’s the difference?

  16. Kudos to WaPo getting this story and images out.

Russians need to know that they mean NOTHING to putin, they are only there to serve him and his war crimes.

    Слава Україні!

    🇺🇦

  17. The picture of Stalin, pretty obvious what these degenerates would do to Ukraine if they could.

  18. Good, wounded soldiers cost them much more than killed soldiers.

  19. Lets be honest. Half of them would still kneel before Putin and the other half is just as happy that they will probably stay at home.

Do not underestimate the brain washing that are Russian masses.

  20. In reality, they are doomed to death. Their system cannot afford to show them in public because it would reflect badly on them. This world makes no sense.

On top of that, the conditions are like in a barn…

  21. r/europe’s comment section has some of the most bigoted and narrow-minded western propaganda shit on the whole reddit

  22. The best we can do is to inform Russians. We don’t have to lie like Russians do to us. Facts might be bad enough.
