I find it funny when they phrase it as “Budapest stands against X” or “Warsaw denies Y” when the mayors of these cities are often way more liberal pro European and progressive than the ruling government
serious question: is it possible for EU (or member states) to give Hungary the boot? (and with boot I don’t mean Italy)
Next time anyone wonders why they’re trying to squeeze as much money out of the commission as possible in order to agree to the oil embargo: they realise they may never see the money from the recovery fund and it may be one of the last times they can use the EU as a cash machine, so they’re gonna get as much as they can. So it’s an even uglier extortion situation than what it’s presented as.
