Mourners have showed defiance at the funerals of protestors who have been killed in the unrest, it has been reported.

Those attending the service for Amirhessam Khodayarifard, who was killed in Kuhdasht, chanted “this is the final battle, Pahlavi will return.” This referred to exiled opposition leader Reza Pahlavi, who is son of the last shah of Iran, ousted in the 1979 revolution that ushered in the Islamic Republic.

There were also anti-government chants shouted at the funeral of Dariush Ansari Bakhtiarvand, a protester who was killed in Isfahan’s Fooladshahr, according to Iran International, citing social media channels.

At the burial there were chants of “Death to Khamenei” referring to Iran’s Supreme Leader, according to reports from the scene.

Meanwhile, mourners attending the funeral of Amirhossein Khodayari-Fard, who died during protests in Kuhdasht, chanted slogans directly addressing government forces present at the ceremony, shouting “Basijis, Guards, you are the ISIS,” comparing Iran’s security forces with Islamist militants.
