The President of the Gambia Football Federation (GFF), Mr. Lamin Kaba Bajo, on Wednesday, 31st December 2025,received in audience, Mr. Sarjo Kuyateh, a native of Basse Manneh Kunda, resident in the United Kingdom (UK). Mr. Kuyateh was at the Football House to brief President Bajo of a grassroots football partnership undertaken by his academy, Kuteh Jombulu, and AC United in the U.K.

He also informed President Bajo about his intentions to scout talented players from the Gambia for a better footballing career in the UK, and also to scout players of Gambian origin in the U.K for their possible recruitment into the various Gambia National Teams.

During his deliberations, President Bajo assured Mr. Kuyateh of the Federation’s support at all times adding that grassroots and youth football development has been on top of his executive’s football development programs from 2014 to date.

President Bajo further stressed the importance of such partnerships in the promotion and development of grassroots and amateur football, as well as creating the opportunity for potential young players in the U.K to play for their country of origin. In order to create the enabling environment and for Mr. Kuyateh to achieve his objectives for the country and the young players, Mr. Bajo offered him the position of a GFF Goodwill Ambassador.

In accepting the offer, Mr. Kuyateh expressed deep gratitude to the President and the Federation, and promised that he will do everything within his means to support them in their drive for the development of football in the country and beyond, especially grassroots football.

Mr. Kuyateh, who has experienced working with some top English clubs like Leicester City, Derby County, Nottingham Forest, and Notts County, thanked President Bajo for the warm reception, adding that he look forward to working closely with Football House to develop Gambian football.

The brief discussion, which was attended by the GFF General Secretary Mr. Lamin M. Jassey, also witnessed the presentation of a Gambian National Team jersey to Mr Kuyateh by President Bajo.
