WASHINGTON (TNND) — Billionaire Tesla CEO Elon Musk signaled his support for Republicans on New Year’s Day ahead of the 2026 midterm elections after he feuded with President Donald Trump.
“America is toast if the radical left wins,” Musk wrote on X. “They will open the floodgates to illegal immigration and fraud. Won’t be America anymore.”
Musk responded to a social media post from a conservative influencer claiming he was “going all-in funding Republicans to help President Trump take back full control in the November midterms.”
A video was included of Trump patting Musk on the arm in November after his nasty fallout with the former Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) chief.
When Musk left the administration in May, he publicly argued with Trump about the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. The bill eliminated electric vehicle tax credits and grew the federal deficit, which DOGE had a mission of reducing.
The tech mogul recently made significant contributions to Republicans in 2026 and signaled he would provide more throughout the cycle, according to Axios.
However, the size of those donations won’t be made public until finance reports are released.
A report by OpenSecrets showed Musk donated more than $290 million to Republican candidates in 2024, making him the top political donor by nearly $100 million.

In August, Musk backed away from launching his own political party, the American Party, and turned his focus back to Tesla, SpaceX, and his other companies.
