Attack on Marvdasht Police Station, Hit-and-Run Clashes in Kuhdasht, Nurabad, and Zahedan

On Friday, January 2, 2026, the sixth day of the nationwide uprising, cities across the country were the scene of widespread confrontations between the people, rebellious youth, and the regime’s suppressive forces. According to reports received by 8:00 PM Tehran time, in addition to Tehran, residents in various cities protested, turning funeral ceremonies for martyrs of the uprising into furious demonstrations against the ruling religious dictatorship. By attacking repressive centers, they demonstrated their resolve to overthrow the regime.

On Friday night, in many areas of Tehran, including Tehranpars, Khak-e Sefid, Sattar Khan, and Sadeghieh, people took to the streets for demonstrations, chanting, ‘Death to the dictator’ and ‘Don’t be afraid, we are all together.’ In Tehranpars, they blocked the streets while chanting, ‘Freedom, freedom, freedom.’ Special units were deployed in Afsariyeh to prevent demonstrations.

Today, after Friday prayers, the courageous people of Zahedan demonstrated against the regime’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, chanting, ‘Death to the dictator,’ ‘Death to Khamenei,’ ‘We swear by the blood of our comrades, we will stand until the end,’ and ‘Iranians, shout, demand your rights.’ Rebellious Baluch youth blocked the old Zahedan road by setting fires and clashed with the regime’s mercenaries. The youth of Saravan also took to the streets, chanting, ‘Khamenei is a murderer, his rule is illegitimate.’

In Fars province, Marvdasht became a center of intense clashes. Thousands participated in the funeral for an uprising martyr, Khodadad Shirvani, who was killed by gunfire from mercenaries yesterday. The crowd chanted, ‘Death to Khamenei,’ ‘Death to the IRGC and Basij,’ and ‘I will kill, I will kill the one who killed my brother.’ The defiant youth then marched towards Police Station 11. They were met with gunfire from military-grade weapons from the rooftops of the police station and Bank Sepah, while a helicopter patrolled overhead. However, the youth took control of parts of the city through hit-and-run tactics. In Nurabad, Fars, defiant youth engaged in clashes and hit-and-run battles with repressive agents of the State Security Force (SSF). The cities of Kavar and Firuzabad in Fars province also witnessed popular protests.

In Lorestan province, the funeral ceremony for an uprising martyr, Amirhossein Khodayarifard, in Kuhdasht became a scene of intense confrontation with suppressive forces. SSF mercenaries, who attempted to prevent the ceremony and confiscate the martyr’s body, were met with the courageous resistance of the public and youth and were forced to flee. The martyr’s family rejected the regime’s false narratives, stating their son had no connection to the Basij and had died for freedom. Fearing the spread of the uprising, Kuhdasht’s criminal prosecutor admitted to arresting 20 protesters and filing judicial cases against them. On Friday evening, the people of Borujerd also took to the streets and chanted anti-regime slogans.

In Isfahan province, the body of an uprising martyr, Dariush Ansari Bakhtiarvand, 37, who was killed during protests in Fuladshahr on the evening of December 31, was buried under a heavy security presence. Despite pressure and threats from intelligence agents against the family, many attended the ceremony, emphasizing their commitment to continuing the path of the martyrs. In the city of Ziar, residents also took to the streets, chanting anti-government slogans.

In Qom, youths set fire to an SSF motorcycle while chanting, ‘This year is the year of blood, Seyed Ali will be overthrown,’ and ‘We did not sacrifice martyrs to compromise or to praise the murderous leader.’ In Hamedan, demonstrations have continued for several consecutive nights, with protesters clashing with suppressive forces who opened fire on them. Ambulances are being used to transport these forces and to attack protesters.
