TIP OFF IS AT 6 P.M. IN PHOENIX. SO YOU MAY SEE A LOT OF PEOPLE WEARING COSTUMES IN DOWNTOWN SACRAMENTO THIS WEEKEND. I SAW HIM DRIVING IN TODAY. THEY’RE EVERYWHERE. IT’S KIND OF COLORFUL. IT’S A TIME FOR THE ANNUAL WINTER SAC ANIME, A CELEBRATION OF POP CULTURE. IT SPOTLIGHTS GAMING, MUSIC, FASHION, COSPLAY, VIDEO AND FILM. AND WHAT’S THAT GUY? I’D LIKE TO KNOW WHO THAT IS. THERE ARE SPEAKER PANELS AND WORKSHOPS. PEOPLE WHO ATTEND SAY THAT THIS IS A GREAT PLACE TO JUST KIND OF EXPRESS THEMSELVES AND FIND OTHERS WHO HAVE THE SAME KIND OF CREATIVE SPIRIT. VERY COLORFUL. YES. UNUSUAL. IT’S PROBABLY NOT EVERYBODY’S CUP OF TEA, BUT IT’S A CROWD THAT WHERE PEOPLE MAYBE THINK THEY DON’T BELONG WITH ONE CROWD, THEY CAN COME BELONG TO OUR CROWD. NOW, WE’RE ALWAYS ACCEPTING OF PEOPLE. WE ALWAYS WANT PEOPLE HERE. COME HERE, COME ENJOY THE SHOW, HAVE FUN, MEET PEOPLE, MAKE NEW FRIENDS. IT’S WHAT IT’S ALL ABOUT. IT’S AWESOME. I MEAN, IT’S JUST FUN BECAUSE, LIKE, YOU TALK ABOUT ALL THE SHOWS THAT YOU REALLY LOVE, BUT YOU ALSO TALK ABOUT, I DON’T KNOW, LIKE SOME OF THESE, I JUST GOT ENGAGED, AND SOME OF THESE FOLKS HAVE BEEN WITH ME FOR YEARS. SO THAT’S BEEN REALLY FUN BECAUSE IT’S LIKE THEY’RE PART OF MY LIFE. THEY’RE PART OF MY CIRCLE, AND THEY’RE DOWNTOWN SPENDING MONEY. Downtown Sacramento is hosting the annual Winter Sac Anime event this weekend, celebrating pop culture with gaming, music, fashion, cosplay, video, and film, and featuring speaker panels and workshops.”Everybody here is here for the same reason. We’re here for anime. We’re here for cartoons. We’re here for stuff we enjoy, manga, reading, watching,” said Joe Deas from Sac Anime. “It’s a pretty eclectic crowd. Everybody is a little different, but we are here all enjoying the same stuff.”Attendees say the event is a great place to express themselves and to connect with others who have a similar creative spirit.”I ended up finding a lot of people who really love my art,” shared Christy Bosch of Chrystal Grafix. “That’s the fun of it. It’s really finding customers that come back. You can build a relationship and that’s why I keep coming back to this one specifically every year. It’s just the community is amazing.”There are plenty of vendors looking to cash in on the event with unique works of art and collectibles.
