Nationwide Uprising – No. 14
Barricades erected in Tehranpars, a security force vehicle torched in Qom, and protesters face direct fire in Lorestan and Kohgiluyeh.
On the evening of Friday, January 2, 2026, the sixth night of the nationwide uprising, the flames of revolt burned brighter in Tehran and various other provinces. Rebellious youths and protesters intensified their attacks and hit-and-run tactics despite the massive presence of suppressive forces. The regime’s plan to quell the protests during the four-day holiday (Wednesday to Saturday) has failed, and its ringleaders are concerned about a further escalation of the uprising when the holiday ends on Sunday.
In Tehran, the districts of Nazi Abad, Narmak, Tehranpars, Sadeghieh, Kashani Street, Khak-e Sefid, and other areas were the scene of demonstrations and clashes. In Nazi Abad, people chanting ‘Death to Khamenei’ set fire to motorcycles and vehicles belonging to the suppressive forces and took control of the streets. In Tehranpars and Khak-e Sefid, defiant youths erected barricades and lit fires to block streets, clashing with regime mercenaries firing tear gas.
In Qom, intense hit-and-run clashes erupted between the people and suppressive forces in the streets of Towhid, Malek Ashtar, and Niroogah, where a vehicle belonging to the suppressive forces was torched. Protesters chanted, ‘This is the year of blood, Seyed Ali [Khamenei] will be overthrown,’ and ‘We did not sacrifice martyrs only to compromise with and praise a murderous leader.’
In Lorestan province, the cities of Khorramabad, Borujerd, Aligudarz, and Kuhdasht witnessed heavy confrontations. On Khorramabad’s Enghelab Street, regime mercenaries opened fire on defenseless people. Severe clashes were reported in the Kazemabad district of Aligudarz and at 22 Bahman Square in Kuhdasht. In Aligudarz, people at Lotfi Crossroads clashed with special unit forces who had attacked the crowd.
On Friday, the city of Kermanshah was the scene of public demonstrations and confrontations with suppressive forces. The sound of gunfire was heard across the city late into the night. In Harsin, in the same province, youths demonstrated, blocking roads with burning tires and clashing with the regime’s mercenaries.
In Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province, citizens in Yasuj took to the streets, chanting, ‘This is the year of blood, Seyed Ali [Khamenei] will be overthrown.’ In the city of Likak (Bahmai), Khamenei’s criminal forces attacked people with tear gas and live ammunition, injuring several protesters.
In Arak, demonstrations by youths and their confrontations with suppressive forces gave the city a war-like appearance tonight. Using hit-and-run tactics on several main streets, the youths disrupted and frustrated the enemy forces.
In the Gohardasht and Fardis districts of Karaj, in Alborz province, youths blocked streets and confronted suppressive forces firing tear gas, while chanting ‘Death to Khamenei’ and ‘Death to the dictator.’
In Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province, protesters gathered in the cities of Hafshejan and Junqan, chanting ‘Death to the dictator,’ ‘The mullahs must get lost,’ ‘Don’t be afraid, we are all together,’ and ‘A Bakhtiari would rather die than be humiliated.’
On Friday night, the people of Qazvin took to the streets, demonstrating and chanting ‘Death to the dictator,’ ‘This nation will not be a nation until the mullahs are buried,’ ‘Cannons, tanks, fireworks, the mullahs must get lost,’ and ‘This is the year of blood, Seyed Ali [Khamenei] will be overthrown.’
In Sarableh, Ilam, an attack by Khamenei’s thugs on local youths led to an armed clash.
In Shiraz, people blocked the road in the Sanaye district. In the Ma’ali Abad district, protesters clashed with officers firing tear gas, chanting ‘Death to the dictator.’
